What can you learn?

- Manual clay modeling techniques such as: pinching, slabs on molds, slab construction, rolls, among others.

- Decoration techniques through painting/drawing with pigments and ceramic pencils.

- Decoration and finishing techniques with the application of glazes.

How do the classes work?

The first class is always dedicated to modeling pieces with clay. These are left to dry in the studio for about a week, and then fired in the kiln.

The following classes (optional) may be dedicated to modeling new pieces, or decorating previously created pieces, through painting and/or applying glazes.

If participants only wish to take one class, they can collect the fired pieces as they are, or opt for the glazing (transparent) and re-firing service. The glaze coating makes the piece waterproof and shiny, and costs €7 per piece.

Participants/ level

Classes are open to all levels.

The minimum age recommended is 12 years old.

*Materials and tools included:

- Low-temperature ceramic clay;

- Ceramic paints and pencils for decorating with paint and drawings;

- Glazes (for low temperatures) for decorating and/or finishing;

- Brushes and other tools for painting and applying glazes;

- Modeling tools, clay molds, and other tools for manual modeling.

(does not include potter's wheel modeling techniques and plaster mold creation)

*Electric kiln firing

The firings are carried out in an electric kiln at temperatures of 1000ºC.

Each session includes one firing per participant, with an approximate volume of 25x25x10cm.

Conditions

Each class must be scheduled at least 2 days in advance and is subject to availability.

No refunds will be given. Classes can be rescheduled if notified at least 2 days in advance.
